As a child I loved children. As a college student I knew I would do something pediatric. After practicing as a Speech and Language Pathologist for four years, I realized there was nothing wrong with the children on my caseload and I changed my title to Speech and Language Professional to convey that I see no pathology in the children I serve.

My career began in Sandpoint, Idaho in 1998 working for the school district. I continued public school service and became inspired by children with Autism. In 2000 I worked in a specialized clinic providing therapy for children on the Autism spectrum.

In 2004 I started Simply Connected and served children in the greater Seattle area. Delivering in-home therapy quickly became my preference for working with children. I got to be where they were most comfortable, include family and caregivers, and draw out natural opportunities to grow language in the everyday routine.

In 2006, I moved to New York and practiced in New Jersey and Manhattan. I was chauffered from house to house by an armed driver and observed the challenges of children living in poverty.

In 2008, my husband Stephen and I moved to Portland, Oregon where our daughter, Gerren, was born.
While in Portland, I worked in the public schools, created a course to support parents connecting with their children during crying and tantrums, and provided inservices on connection for early childhood educators and directors of childcare centers.

Today I live in Nashville, TN and practice as an in-home therapist, consultant and speaker.

Generally I focus on connection (listening, eye contact, touch) to cause language growth, healing, peace, and joy where it didn't exist before.

I love making a difference for others. It's what my life's about.
